Continuing Personal Development (CPD)

Krypton Tune, under the auspices of The Scottish Motor Trade Association (SMTA) and The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), have incorporated the principle of Continuing Personal Development (CPD) as the way forward in maintaining the Professional Standards required for today's Motor Industry and which is expected by the Motorist.

Without doubt the policy developed by the IMI will ensure that customers using Garages that are Members of the Institution, will be secure in the knowledge that, where possible, the most up to date methods of testing and information will be available to ensure that all repairs are carried out Professionally and Efficiently and by Qualified and Skilled Technicians/Mechanics.   Krypton Tune would also like to take this opportunity to remind our customers that the SMTA 'Carwise' Code of Practice also ensures that our customers will continue to enjoy the protection of the Associations successful 'Complaints Procedure', should a dispute between a Repairer and Motorist arise and the assistance of an Independent adjudicator  would be preferable in connection with any unsolved matter or complaint.

As an Independent Repairer, Krypton Tune would also like to take this opportunity to comment on the advantage of using Repairers that are Members of a Recognized and Legitimate 'Motor Trade Organisation' and to state our reluctance to recommend the use of Repairers that are not bound by strict Customer Relationship Procedures or Controls.  

It is our judgment that; without links to Organizations that compliment Repairers by way of up to date Technical Information and Training with additional benefits such as providing guidance on the constant Government Legislation on Health & Safety information and Insurance Requirements for the protection of it's Members and the Members of the Public, it is unlikely that the needs of the Motorist would be best served.  

Being a Member of a Recognized Organization not only provides a method of Legal Protection to both Repairer and Customer alike in the unlikely event of a dispute, it also encourages Repairers to inform customers of their Statutory rights at all times.  

As a consequence of our judgment, Krypton Tune has no hesitation in recommending any Repairer that possesses the above commitment and is willing to be subjected to the scrutiny of any Independent Customer Orientated Complaints Procedure, designed to consider equally, the rights of all parties concerned.   We also commit ourselves to maintaining or exceeding our current level of training and information gathering.
